For 2016, the Howard County Democratic Party will be kicking off a Year of Service.
For the National Day of Service, we will be sponsoring a food drive to help replenish the Howard County Food Bank! It is simple, easy, and rewarding. Follow these 4 simple steps to ensure that the Howard County residents most in need have something to eat. If you are unable to participate but would like to make a donation directly to the food bank, contact us.
Step 1: Pick up Bags for your Neighbors
Come by the Howard County Headquarters located at 7050 Oakland Mills Road, Suite 120, Columbia, MD (Corner of Berger St. and Oakland Mills Road) on Thursday, Januray 14 from 6 - 8 p.m. to pick up enough bags to deliver to your neighbors. If you cannot be there on January 9, contact us at howardcountydems@gmail.com and we can make alternate arrangements.
Step 2: Deliver the bags to your neighbors.
We will provide you with a sheet to staple to your bag that explains the purpose (to fill the bag and place it on the door step on the date you select) what can be donated, and a space for you to fill out when you will pick up the bags.
Step 3: Pick up filled up bags from your neighbors
Pick up the filled up bags on the date you selected and be excited with how much you collected. Take a photo and post it on Facebook or Twitter with the hashtag #HCDemsServe. If you don't have access to social media, send us a photo at howardcountydems@gmail.com.
Step 4: Drop off Bags
Drop back off at our headquarters (7050 Oakland Mills Road, Suite 120) on Sunday, January 17 from 11 a.m. - 2 p.m. or on Monday, January 18 in Maple Lawn (8171 Maple Lawn Blvd - call 443-765-5956 when you arrive) from 9 a.m. - 11 a.m. or 1 p.m. - 3 p.m.
