Candidates Forum Meeting #1
A. President Report – Sue Geckle welcomed and introduced all the elected officials, as well as the candidates.
January 2018 minutes are on the website and were approved.
B. Treasurer's Report – Balance is $2,414.23; income - $637; expenses - $395.
C. Program -- Democratic candidates in County Council Districts 1, 2 & 5, State Senate 9 & 12, State Delegate District 9A, 9B & 12 as well as County Executive and early filers for the Central Committee
Agenda:
- 7-7:30 PM Non-contested races – each candidate got two minutes to introduce themselves.
State Senate District 9 – Katie Hester
State Senate District 12 – Senator Ed Kasemeyer
State Delegate District 9A – Natalie Zeigler
State Delegate District 12 – Eric Ebersole
State Delegate District 12 – Terri Hill
State Delegate District 12 – Clarence Lamb
County Council District 1 – Jon Weinstein
County Council District 2 – Opel Jones
County Council District 5 – China Williams
- 7:30-8 PM Delegates for 9B 3-minute intro, 20 minutes of questions from audience, 2-minute closing. Coin toss to see who goes first and last. Medinger went first.
State Delegate District 9B – Dan Medinger (intro first, closing remarks second)
State Delegate District 9B – Courtney Watson (intro second, closing remark first)
- 8-8:30 PM – each candidate got three minutes to introduce themselves, rest of time questions from the audience..
County Executive – Council Member Calvin Ball
County Executive – Harry Dunbar (will not be able to attend)
- 8-8:35 - Central Committee candidates who have filled by February 1 – each candidate got one minute to introduce themselves..
Central Committee – Alicia Altamirano.
Central Committee - Rich Corkran.
Central Committee – Dave Grabowski.
Central Committee – Shahan Rizvi
The next meeting is another candidates forum at the same venue, March 6, 2018.
